Organoid Core

The Organoid core specializes in generating epithelial organoids that sustain the stem cell functions of cell lineages that can be used for studying organ physiology as well as disease and tumor modeling. We have expertise in patient-derived organoids (PDO) and in organoids generated from mouse models. The core maintains a living PDO biobank from various tissue types and offers assistance in developing 3D models for UCSF research teams.

  1. Assistance with organoid generation, maintenace, expansion, cryopreservation and reviving
  2. To provide an organoid repository for collaborative research across UCSF campuses
  3. To provide UCSF investigators and their labs with training on cell- and organoid- culture models
  4. Development of novel/advanced in vitro models, such as assembloids of PDO with other cell types

We have bioanked a collection of PDOs from colon, CRC, meatstatic CRC, lung, NSCLC, pancreas, PDAC, and metastatic PDAC. We have expertise in other PDO and we are eager to collaborate with you to expand the orgranoid biobank in the UCSF Organoid - Disease to Biology Colab.
