Use the Facility

This section describes how to apply for an account to use our facility and instruments.

Before you begin

• Access to the lab is granted to authorized personnel.
• Prior experience with NMR or training (see below) is required.
• A half-day High-Field Protein NMR course (2D 15N-HSQC set-up) is offered quarterly (Next Course: Thursday April 23rd 2026 2-6 PM) for up to 5 beginners and students who wish to use the 600 MHz and 800 MHz NMR's with cryoprobes for studies of macromolecules (Function, Dynamics and Ligand Binding). [Participants: (1) ; (2) ; (3) ; (4) ; (5) ; (6) ; (Course Minimum is 2)].
• The facility is open to collaborations.
• You will need a UCSF ID card to access the lab.

Internal UCSF Users:

Steps:

1. Complete this form.  
2. Sign the User Agreement received via DocuSign.  If you encounter issues, contact kimberly.cantero@ucsf.edu.
3. Wait for us to contact you with further instructions.
4. Please select a federally funded speedtype when making a reservation.

External (non-UCSF) Users:

To access the facility, UCSF requires a service contract agreement.

Steps:

1. Complete this form. 
2. Sign the User Agreement received via DocuSign. If you encounter issues, contact kimberly.cantero@ucsf.edu.
3. Complete the Business Contract Request Form received via DocuSign. For assistance, contact kimberly.cantero@ucsf.edu.
4. The company contact listed on the Business Contract Request Form will receive the service contract agreement from our Office of Sponsored Research, Business Contracts unit.
5. After the service contract is executed, you will receive an Affiliate Request Form via DocuSign.
6. Complete the Affiliate Request Form.
7. You will be contacted after your affiliate appointment is approved. Once approved, you may obtain your ID badge at the UCSF WeID Office.
